Make Seasoning Cream And Onion

beer and movies?

As soon I go on summer vacation and do not know if this blog will continue to function, I want to make a contribution, hoping it would not be the last.

When you hear the word "summer" there are many things that come to a head. For example, vacation, heat, ice cream and of course, beer. With the permission of Delirium , I will discuss the relationship between cinema and a refreshing and tasty drink. In view of this lover of beer, unfortunately is a fairly poor.

If I had decided to make a tackle on cinema and wine would have been quite easy. Therefore likely I would have more than one post. The wine world in its different facets, from development to sales has been reflected through the generosity of the seventh art. A boat soon come to mind such films as "Sideways ", " A walk in the clouds ", " A Good Year" or " French Kiss", "This land is mine " and "Blood and Wine ." Additionally, there are plenty of films in which wine is like a touch of distinction or class. Who has not ever wish to order a bottle of Dom Perignon of 53?
But
What about beer? I'm not saying that no films in which the beer has taken a starring role. However, unlike what happened with the wine, I think a tape is not famous in which we see the passion deposited in the malting process and the subsequent fermentation. Neither the rest reflective of their maturation. Or any romance, stormy or funny, that elapses between fields of barley. Neither intimate journeys between Belgium microbreweries.

Of course, if you search the internet under the keywords "beer and movies" is a list of sites with movies in which the golden liquid has a certain role. One of the first page is entitled "Top 10 Beer Movies." And under such a suggestive title will find the following:

1. The Fatal Glass of Beer (1933)
2. Three Little Beers (1935)
3. The Lost Weekend (1945)
4. Leaving Las Vegas (1995)
5. National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)
6. Blue Velvet Blue Velvet (1986)
7. Smokey and the Bandit. Smokey And The Bandit (1977)
8. Beer (1985)
9. American Beer (2004)
10. Sideways. Sideways (2004)

When I read the list I went into a deep depression. In this list there are two movies that deal with alcoholism. Another is led by a psychopath who does not like Heineken and Pabst Blue Ribbon preferred. Those that appear "beer" in the title, two are comedies of the 30's and the other two are documentaries. There's even one that is not wine and beer! For that matter, we could include in the "Gangs of New York" because a gang has its lair in a brewery.

But be fair, the beer has less prominence than wine at the movies. While it is true that when it does often appear to try to reflect the friendship or camaraderie. The epitome of this kind of film is undoubtedly " The Quiet Man" by John Ford. Much of the film takes place around the pub and the apotheosis of Innisfree is shared pint in the middle of the fight between Sean Thornton and Will Danaher.

There are other great moments of friendship brewing such as roof scene in "Shawshank Redemption ." Seldom has represented so well what it means a cold beer on a hot day

Other film episodes in which the beer is essential is when a great feast, especially if developed in medieval times. The horns full of foam can not miss on those gargantuan meals. In that case, my favorite is the banquet scene which takes place in the movie "The Vikings ." For me it is unforgettable moment when Kirk Douglas replaced the ax throwing the cuckolded husband.

But if history and talk beer, I think the most curious sequence is one that belongs to " Sinuhe, the Egyptian . At one point Sinuhe has a conversation with the mother of the pharaoh, which shows beer. Sinuhe even come to warn about the harmful effects of their abuse.

And finally, a film that speaks to one of the essential components of beer but which generally do not think. This is hops, and harvesting of the plant is reflected in the movie "The Unbearable Lightness of Being ". I think it's the only time that this process is reflected in a film.

Nothing more, you enjoy the summer and cold beer, if you like this drink.

Cheers
